Version 2026-10-21. Every person accepts these terms when they join Legal Binders.
1. Who these terms are between
Legal Binders is provided by NEXGEN Solutions, LLC ("NEXGEN", "we"). These Terms of Use are between NEXGEN and you, the person using an account that a prosecutor's office (your "Office") or you yourself registered. Your Office's use is also governed by the Office Subscription Agreement it accepted. If the two differ, the Office Subscription Agreement controls.
2. Your account
- Your account is for you alone. Do not share your password or let anyone else sign in as you.
- Use a password of at least 12 characters that you do not use anywhere else.
- Tell your Office's Administrator at once if you think someone else has used your account.
- Your Office decides your Role and Profile, and can change or end your access at any time.
3. What you may use Legal Binders for
You may use Legal Binders only for your work for your Office, in your official duties.
4. What you must not enter
Legal Binders holds law and your Office's best-practice work product, never case files. You must not enter, upload or save:
- names, dates of birth, addresses, identification numbers or contact details of any defendant, victim or witness;
- case numbers, police reports, discovery, evidence or any record from a pending or closed case;
- criminal history or any information from a criminal justice information system.
When you fill in a template on screen, what you type stays in your browser window and is never sent to or saved by Legal Binders. Printing it or downloading it as a Word file puts it on your own computer, under your Office's own rules. The full rules are in the Acceptable Use policy, which is part of these terms.
5. The content is a starting point, not legal advice
The binders are prepared from public statutes, court rules and published opinions, and your Office's Approvers review them before you see them. They are a reference and a starting point. They are not legal advice, and NEXGEN does not act as anyone's lawyer. You remain responsible for your own legal judgment and for checking the law that applies to your case.
6. Your actions are recorded
To protect your Office, Legal Binders records the actions taken in it, other than moving between pages: for example sign-ins, changes to documents and folders, approvals and changes to people's access. Each record shows the date, time and person. Your Office's Administrators can read and verify this record, and NEXGEN keeps its own record of approvals and account changes.
7. Information about you
NEXGEN keeps your name, work email, Office, Role and Profile, and the record described in section 6. We use them to run Legal Binders for your Office, and we do not sell them.
8. Suspension
NEXGEN or your Office may suspend your account if it is misused or put at risk, or if your Office's subscription ends or is suspended.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in.
10. Questions
Ask your Office's Administrator, or contact us.
